MLS Fantasy: The 10 best team names in 2013 Fantasy Soccer: Manager game

Fantasy Dream Team: Graham Zusi

For some fantasy soccer players, the best part of the game is picking your team name. Especially if you're not actually all that good at the game (e.g., my brilliantly named team, Tesla's Revenge, is in 14,488th place).

Here are our 10 favorites from this year's MLS Fantasy Soccer: Manager game.

1. Sons of El Chelis - A clever Chivas-ian twist on the Philadelphia Union's supporter group, the Sons of Ben. Overall rank: 91

2. Gaven's Beard Trimmer - Oddly, this guy doesn't have the team's bearded namesake, Eddie Gaven, on his team. Maybe he should, because he's not doing very well. Overall rank: 14,079

3. Borussia Nebraska - We can't really think of a more discordant combination than a traditional Bundesliga nomenclature in the heart of cornhusker nation. Overall rank: 1,646

4. Zusi what I mean? - Well, do you? Overall rank: 3,013

5. Side of Bacon FC - Bacon and soccer. Need we say more? Overall rank: 1,190

6. Barenaked Lades - This player either has a crush on Red Bulls defender Connor Lade, or is a typo-prone fan of a certain Canadian jam band. We think it's the former, except that she doesn't have Lade on her team! Well, he is hurt. So... Overall rank: 8,449

7. Mookie Blaylock - Sounders writer Matt Gaschk's side is an homage either to the former NBA basketball player or to Pearl Jam, who were once called Mookie Blaylock in an homage to the former NBA basketball player. Overall rank: 4,991

8. Conceited Defeat - We love a good play on words. Overall rank: 3,306

9. Swedish Meatballs - How can you like a team that makes you think of the Swedish Chef on The Muppets? Overall rank: 6,117

10. Perry's Kitchen Sink - He's got his money where his mouth is: D.C. United midfielder Perry Kitchen is in the squad. Overall rank: 10,241
