The task isn't complex for the Seattle Sounders in Leg 2 of their Conference Semifinal against the Portland Timbers: win and advance.
On Thursday (10:30 pm ET | FS1, FOX Deportes, TSN, TVAS) the Sounders head home facing a 2-1 aggregate deficit. This isn't the first time they've been in this position in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.
Four times in their franchise history, the Sounders have headed for a Leg 2 at CenturyLink Field needing a win. In those four instances, they've won three times and advanced twice. Once they were knocked out by the away goals tiebreaker and once they advanced by the same method.
They will be without star defender Chad Marshall and could be without nearly ever-present midfielder Cristian Roldan. Can they do it on Thursday, or will the Timbers advance to the Conference Championship?
