St. Louis CITY SC are headed to the 2026 US Open Cup final.

CITY booked their spot with a commanding 3-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Wednesday night, reaching the final for the first time in club history.

St. Louis will now advance to the Oct. 21 final, where they'll visit the Columbus Crew after the Crew topped Orlando City, 2-1, in Wednesday's other semifinal.

St. Louis struck first in the 32nd minute, capitalizing on a goalkeeper error as Sang Bin Jeong pounced on an errant one-touch pass from Adam Beaudry and finished into an open net.

The visitors then blew the game open with two goals in quick succession early in the second half. Simon Becher doubled the advantage in the 52nd minute, finishing off a counterattack set up by Conrad Wallem.

Alexandru Mățan made it 3-0 seven minutes later, as CITY caught Colorado napping with a quick restart before Mățan finished it off.

Three Things

  • THE BIG PICTURE: What a run for St. Louis! In just their fourth MLS season, they're in their first US Open Cup final, with a chance to lift the club's first trophy. And this isn't just a cup run – Wednesday's victory extended their club-record unbeaten streak to 17 matches across all competitions, as St. Louis have emerged as one of MLS's hottest teams over the past several months.
  • MOMENT OF THE MATCH: Colorado were still very much in the game at 1-0, but Becher's finish gave St. Louis breathing room and seemed to take the wind out of the Rapids' sails.
  • MAN OF THE MATCH: Alexandru Mățan. The summer addition picked an ideal time for his first St. Louis goal, catching Colorado out on a quick restart and burying the strike that effectively sealed CITY's spot in the final.
