Career Summary

CAREER

2022: The defender picked up where he left off in 2021, gaining more regular gametime with 27 appearances in the MLS regular season, starting 22 of those games. He claimed two assists and earned a nomination for August’s Etihad Player of the Month prize. Though injury sadly ruled him out of playoff action, he played the full 90 of our Campeones Cup victory, and there was more good news in post-season with the award of a new long-term contract, as the Bronx-born Blue committed his future to the Club through 2025 with the option of 2026.

2021: The youngster enjoyed a start to his senior career with New York City Football Club after making his debut in April against FC Cincinnati. That would be one of ten regular season appearances during which he recorded a single assist. An injury to Anton Tinnerholm afforded Gray more opportunities, and saw the youngster as the Club's starting right-back heading into the playoffs. He subsequently played all four games, registering one assist, as NYCFC won MLS Cup.

2020: The promising defender made the bench three times during the MLS regular season as he continued his development with the club.

2019: Tayvon Gray signed his first professional contract with the Club becoming the first Bronx native to sign with NYCFC. Before that, he anchored the backline on the U-19 team who became the first Club to win back-to-back U-19 U.S. Development Academy National Championships. He also started two matches for the United States U-17 National Team at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil and was one of the five Academy players to join the Club's 2019 preseason in Abu Dhabi.

2017: Gray joined NYCFC Academy in 2017 with the U-17s.
