New England Revolution sign forward Maximiliano Urruti
TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing The New England Revolution have signed forward Maximiliano Urruti, the club announced Thursday.
Urruti joined Austin FC as a free agent signing in December 2021, and contributed nine goals and two assists during the team's run to the MLS Western Conference Final in 2022. A well-rounded forward who can harry defenders relentlessly, the Argentine has been in MLS since 2013, playing for Toronto, Portland, Dallas, Montreal, and Houston before signing with the Verde & Black. A proven winner, Urruti has lifted an MLS Cup, MLS Supporters' Shield, U.S. Open Cup, and Canadian Cup during his time in North America.
At the start of the 2023 season, Urruti had 69 career MLS goals and 39 career MLS assists to his name. As a young player, Urruti came up through the academy system at storied Argentine club Newell's Old Boys and debuted for their senior team in 2011, later helping the club reach the semifinals of the 2013 Copa Libertadores.
