Watch: VICE Sports goes deep with Vancouver's Alphonso Davies in mini-doc

From his birth in a refugee camp in Ghana, to a star turn over the summer with the Canadian national team, Vancouver Whitecaps winger Alphonso Davies has packed plenty into his young years.

The teenage attacker, who turned 17 last week, became the third-youngest player in MLS history when he signed a Homegrown contract with the Whitecaps in July 2016. He made his debut later that season, appearing in eight MLS matches before seeing time in 26 regular season games this year.

Thatā€™s quite a feat for any teenager, but Daviesā€™ story is made even impressive by his familyā€™s difficult journey from war-torn Liberia to Canada by way of Ghana. VICE Sports looked at Daviesā€™ path in a recent mini-documentary; check it out above.
