Thierry Henry and Chris Wondolowski

ESPN announced on Thursday the nominees for the 2013 ESPYS awards show to be held Wednesday, July 17, at 9 pm ET on ESPN. As has been the case since 2006, the award for Best MLS Player will be voted on by the fans right up until the beginning of the presentation show next month.

Three of 2012's top performers in Major League Soccer were nominated for this year's honor — Red Bulls forward Thierry Henry, Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski and Sporting Kansas City midfielder Graham Zusi. Voting has already begun for Best MLS Player, as well as all the rest of the awards, on ESPN's ESPYS home page. Get your vote in today.

Only two men — Landon Donovan (five-time winner) and David Beckham (two-time winner) — have ever won the award for Best MLS Player at the ESPYS.

Additional nominees in other categories from the soccer world include:

Abby Wambach for Best Record Breaking Performance

Alex Morgan game-winning goal against Canada in Olympic semifinal for Best Moment

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for Best International Athlete
