Thereās been no shortage of good news for Columbus Crew SC midfielder Rodrigo Saravia this week.
The 19th overall pick in last monthās SuperDraft, Saravia signed his first professional contract on Thursday, then received a call to the Guatemalan national team on Friday. The Florida Gulf Coast University product, who has been called to Guatemalaās senior team once before, will join Los Chapines for next Wednesdayās friendly against Honduras in Guatemala City.
Saravia could represent his country at Crew SCās home field later this year, as Guatemala are set to face the US in a World Cup Qualifier at MAPFRE Stadium on March 29.
