The Colorado Rapids have acquired winger Ibrahim Sadiq from Dutch Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar, the club announced Thursday.

The 26-year-old former Ghana youth international is under contract through 2027-28 with an option for 2028-29.

Sadiq has spent the previous three seasons with AZ Alkmaar, where he won the 2025-26 Dutch Cup and tallied 18g/7a in 85 appearances.

He's also spent time with Swedish side BK Häcken and Danish giants FC Nordsjaelland.

"Ibrahim is an exciting attacking player who has demonstrated his quality across several competitive European leagues," said Rapids president Pádraig Smith.

"His pace, directness, and ability to create and score goals from wide areas will add another important dimension to our attack. He also brings valuable experience of winning championships and competing in European competition. We are delighted to welcome Ibrahim to Colorado."

Internationally, Sadiq represented Ghana at the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup. He's been called up to the senior team, but has yet to debut.

The Rapids have completely overhauled their attack during the summer window, signing Sayed Abu Farkhi and Sadiq after trading leading goalscorer Rafael Navarro to St. Louis CITY SC. They'll reportedly also soon acquire Middlesbrough FC winger Morgan Whittaker on a club-record deal.

Currently, Colorado are seventh in the Western Conference (31 points; 10W-11L-1D) as they push for a return to the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.
